Please be aware of scam email

A message from NHS Surrey

We have been made aware of a scam e-mail which is currently being sent to people living in Sussex, inviting them to update their details in order to remain registered with their GP practice.  We wanted to warn Surrey residents in case they also receive a similar email.

This is a generic scam e-mail which directs people to install software by clicking on a button which says 'I don't want to change my GP' and then asking them to provide their contact details.  Should you get this scam email, do not do this.

There is no programme of work being undertaken locally, or nationally, to ask you to confirm whether you wish to stay with (or leave) your GP practice.

Sometimes your practice may ask you to confirm your contact details because it is important that you keep these up to date. However, if your GP practice wanted to check this with you, you would be contacted directly by them and not generically.

You can find out more information and advice on how to identify fraud and can report scam e-mails via Action Fraud.
